Seminar on “World Birth Defects Day: Social Awareness and Prevention” and Rally for World Birth Defects Day 2019 Celebration

Every year, around 3-6% of the infants around the world are born with serious birth defects. In 2015, March of Dimes joined 11 other international organizations to launch the first annual World Birth Defects Day. Following their initiative, each year, hundreds of organizations formally participate by reaching out to millions of individuals on social media to raise awareness on this issue. Participating for the first time this year, Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department, MIST, is arranging a seminar titled, “World Birth Defects Day: Social Awareness and Prevention” on 03 March 2019. Professionals from Armed Forces Medical College, Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka Shishu Hospital, and Dhaka Medical College will deliver keynote speeches as the resource persons in this seminar. Mr Farhad Hossain, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Public Administration, will be the chief guest on this occasion.
