PROJECTS

Project 1: Host to WWLLN and Research Agreement (September 2021)

Recently I have installed a sensor host station of World Wide Lightning Location Network (www.wwlln.net) in Bangladesh. This is the only host station in Bangladesh contributing the lightning data to WWLLN. With the commissioning of this station, I have now access to lightning dataset of 70 host stations around the world. I have research agreement with Prof. Robert Holzworth, Director, WWLLN, University of Washington. I would like to study and characterise the sferics generated from lightnig discharge and investigate the effect of VLF propagation on Ionospheric D-layer over Bangladesh. I also wish to investigate the newer possibilities of underwater communication through VLF/ELF with shorter and compact antenna made of suitable metamaterials. Interested and potential researchers are welcome to contact me.

Project 2: GNSS Reference Receiver for the Study of Ionospheric Scintillation (September 2021- September 2024)

Under a cooperation agreement on mutual ionospheric research between MIST and Istituto Nazionale de Geofisica and Vulcanologia (INGV), Italy; shortly I shall sign up a research agreement with Dr. Claudio Cessaroni to study the effect of Ionospheric Scintillation over Bangladeh. Interested and potential researchers are welcome to contact me.
