MIST STUDENTS AND ALUMNA RECEIVE HONOURABLE MENTIONS IN ‘WEAVING HERITAGE FOR TOMORROW’
Tasin Tasfia, a recent alumna from ARCH 6, received an honourable mention in the Architectural Idea Competition “Weaving Heritage for Tomorrow,” organized by ArchiJury. Her submission, titled “Taat Sanket: Weaving Tangail’s Cultural Heritage into Commerce,” explored innovative ways to integrate traditional weaving and local craftsmanship into commercial spaces. The competition invited students, architects, planners, and designers to propose ideas that connect cultural heritage with contemporary living while promoting sustainability, community engagement, and climate-responsive design.
Another team, comprising Jarin Tasnim Purbita and Asfat Islam Abir, Level 4 students from MIST, also received an honourable mention. Their project, titled “উদযাপন: একটিউৎসবমুখরযাত্রীছাউনি,” creatively combined heritage, craft, and modern architectural solutions. ArchiJury, an online platform promoting architectural innovation and dialogue, organized the competition to encourage designs that celebrate cultural continuity while inspiring future-ready architecture.
